Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to raise the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard forklifts aren't able to move the load towards and away from the cab of the forklift, while a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is necessary.
In cases requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to use uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This type of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform which is designed to raise workers is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a chain or strap is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
