The company Hyster began life as a small-time manufacturing facility with focus on winches and lifting machines. The company's market used to be the logging and timber industry which was then thriving in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Legend has it that the company got its name from the call made by laborers who would cry out "Hoist'er!" when a log was in the process of being lifted.
Within a few years' time, forklift trucks arrived into the market. Hyster was amongst the first movers to take advantage. In the past eight decades, Hyster has been continuously upgrading and refining its product offerings. It has earned its reputation as a leading player in the international market.
