Hyster Carriages and Carriage Parts

Rated by the fork carriage hoisting capacity, there are four sizings of hook type tine carriages. The hook type fork carriages have been standardized.

The carriage bar spacing utilized for Class 1 is around 13 inches and the Class 1 carriage is rated to hold cargo up to 2000lbs. The Class 2 carriage is rated to hold loads as much as 5,500lbs with carriage bar spacing of 16 inches. Class III carriages are rated for loads up to 10,000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this class is 20 inches. Class IV carriages are rated for cargo up to 15,500 lbs. The carriage bar spacing utilized for this capacity is 25 inches.

The carriages for pin type tines could be different depending on the maker. Pin mounted blades could differ by the amount of offset between the tine eye and the tine. Carriage capacity would be established by the carriage pin size and by the tine size.
